q: What was basic training like?

a: Basic training I guess was an adventure. Some find it not to be very exciting but to some it is. The day you get there you realize that you’re away from home. No more mom and dad to help you with your problems. It’s all about you and only you to get through everything. Some panic once they have no one to go to for their problems. Basic was fun. You get all kinds of high-speed training and shoot all kinds of weapons for free. There are always times people will get home sick. I was home sick every now and then and yes there were hard times. Once you meet everyone else that will train with you, you realize that there are many other people that feel the same as you. In the end you actually grow together as a family and it’s eventually hard to leave. Most people get there scared, eventually get happy and enjoy themselves, and then don’t want to leave. It’s a rush and it’s something to make someone realize what life really is.
