Tetrapod [te-truh-pod] Hynerpeton Bassetti

Today's critter comes from right here in our own back yard, the Upper Devonian Catskill Formation at Red Hill in Clinton County, PA. In 1993, fossils of the Tetrapod Hynerpeton Bassetti were uncovered, leading scientists down a road that had not planned - discovering an entirely new species.
